Today we discussed two poems read aloud...Pat Mora's Lesson 1 and Lesson 2. We watched a video on Latino Identity and Literature (video can be found under Videos tab) and completed a 3, 2, 1 activity. 3 things you learned, 2 questions you have, and 1 interesting fact. Next, we received our Take-Home quiz (quiz can be found under Quizzes tab). This is due next class. We received our first set of reading material...we are to read "The Confession" from Rain of Gold before next class.

Today we went over the course syllabus, unit exam/essay sheet, introduced ourselves, navigated the website, and went over the power point on the terms Latino, Chicano, and Hispanic (power point available under the Power Points tab). Homework was to read the Introduction packet (pg. 1-8). You will need to get that from Mr. Rivera. As you read the Introduction, you need to ask 3 questions that either make you THINK, CONFUSE, or WANT TO KNOW MORE. Also, signed course syllabus is due next class.
